As they erect the
arch using wooden modules, the students approach architecture in all three of
its dimensions and are put in a position of discovery. At every step of the
building process, they are encouraged to observe and analyse what takes place
and are pushed to think in order to move forth. Along the way, they become
conscious of the balance of forces at work.
